Janrain, sometimes styled as JanRain, is a customer profile and identity management (CIAM) software provider based in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was established in 2002. Akamai acquired Janrain in January 2019.

"Zero accountability management, there was zero on-boarding, zero training knowledge and documentation, an environment of "fake it until you make it", high turnover, office politics. Quite frankly this is not an environment where you're able to advance yourself and complete your personal + career goals."

"Dismal culture of politics and every-person-for-themself sucks all the air and life out of the organization, leaving nothing for progress or innovation. Claustrophobic office building directly negatively impacts worker happiness and success. Top leadership lacks integrity, understanding of product or technology in general. Fighting and politicking keep the underlings afraid, uninformed, and heads down. There is a startling gap between what is sold/marketed, and what has actually been built, and there is an astonishing lack of understanding of this gap, willingness to acknowledge or confront it."

"Lack of leadership, across the board. Larry seemed like a great guy, but didn't fit the role of CEO for a company of that size. Other executives were even more questionable in their ability to lead a team, collaborate across departments, plan, and execute. Middle-management was often non-existent. Pay seemed pretty low for a company of that size. Lots of lay-offs in 2013 and 2014. Very low morale. A complete inability to ship customer deliverables. I am pretty sure that we did not have a single satisfied customer during my entire tenure. Products had serious problems with scale, lack of testing and QA. No real product roadmaps or planning. Constantly in "fire-fighting" mode. Product direction was driven far too much by demands of single, big customers."
